Lots of luck for the year 2007! This year went by so fast! I had my exams, spent 5 months in france, had many lazy weeks in finland and then came here... Feels so weird it was all in 12 months.

So first of all i think i should tell you about my christmas (hope yours was lovely, too!).  Hmm let me think.. I've obviously partied too much these past few days, my brain's really getting damaged  ha ha! Can't remember anything!  Ok but SO on christmas eve we just stayed home, had a nice dinner and of course ate too much. We had candles everywhere and our very own christmas tree! Then we actually tried to go to the church for a christmas mass but we just couldn't find the church although we had checked it on the map for so many times! Actually we just got back from the beach now and NOW, just  a bit too late, we figured out where the church really is... Maybe 10 meters from the point where we were on christmas eve. I'm frustrated! Yeah, still it was nice and we talked to our friends and family over the phone and the whole night was basically all about relaxing and having a good time.

Then the 25th we went  to our friend sara's garden and had  a big barbecue there - luckily the weather was really nice, not like the day before with lots of rain! We had steaks, sausages, smoked salmon, prawns, corn, salads, fresh bread and even kangaroo meat! Mmm not bad! And then we headed down to the beach, talked to many people and yeah, had a nice time! My first christmas abroad wasn't bad at all! Different of course but not as difficult as i would have expected.

And then yesterday, the new year's eve... All i really wanted to do was to see the fireworks, nothing else mattered to me. So we took a look on the map and chose the best place to see the whole harbour area. And then, on new year's eve, we got up after nine, took our food and drinks with us, and went to the city to queue up to get in to the botanic gardens which is a lovely big area around the harbour with lots of plants (well yes, it is a huge garden) and yesterday lots of people, too! We were there really early, 11 o' clock in the morning, but we still had to wait almost three hours to get in! Nobody wasn't able to bring their own alcohol in but there were many places where you could purchase food and drinks inside the area. So the security checks were pretty strict and that's why it took such a long time. But it was ok, the sun was shining and we had enough food with us -and a good mood. Then it was quite tricky to find a nice spot there but finally we managed to find an empty spot on the grass and sat down for the next... 9 hours! What a long day! Everything was ok for a couple of hours and then i just started to feel so bad, so bad! you can't even imagine! It surely wasn't because of alcohol because i had hardly started drinking and i never throw up because of it, so i assume i had eaten something weird. But yeah, the next 7 hours i just vomited all the time. A new year's eve in sydney, nice memories! The others offered to leave back home with me but i didn't want to give up, damned! I had come all the way here and i really didn't want to miss the fireworks. it was horrible, the longest few hours of my life, but finally it was midnight and i stood up and forgot all i had just gone trough. It was... it was so unbelievable, incredible! I was just overwhelmed. The most beautiful thing i had ever seen! Trust me - that's something you really want to see before you die, i can't even describe it at all...
I didn't find a clip of yesterday yet but just to get the idea you can see a video of last year, just click here and it should work. The opera house all lit up on the left with tens of beautiful skyscrapers, in the middle the harbour bridge, and on the right the ocean full of boats with party lights... And then thousands of people around you, first so loud and cheerful but all of the sudden so quiet and  impressed! I just suddenly hit me -this was my dream for so many years and now i'm here and i got to witness all of that! Really a great moment.  But then  we just had to leave really quickly cause there were thousands and millions of people around that area and we just wanted to get back home as soon as possible and just 15 minutes later it would have been a nightmare with the train... It seemed like a city full of zombies cause in the whole central area the road were closed and no cars were allowed to drive there and so it was just full of pedestrians. We were lucky and were back at home around 1 and then it felt so nice just to be able to lie on your own bed and sleep. Today i'm feeling much better already, i have to try to eat something soon and maybe then i'll loose this weird feeling on my stomach. I'm still wondering what it was all about yesterday -it was so sudden and tough!

I'll put some pics here when i have more time, it just takes so much time to upload them. But one day, one day!

Hope your holidays were nice, lots of happiness for this year! Let's keep in touch!
